my great war!

#1 Post by MajorSpartan »

It was a dark, stormy evening. The kind where even experienced warriors grow quiet without realizing it. Lightning tore across the sky, thunder rolled over the земли, and the river below my window boiled under the wind like something alive.

Still, in my lands there was no panic. Only preparation.

My army stood ready beyond the fortress walls. Shields raised, banners snapping in the wind, armor flashing whenever lightning lit the sky. Cavalry horses stamped the ground, impatient. Archers calmly checked their bows. Mages stood apart, focused, whispering spells under their breath. Behind them, the healers prepared their tools. They knew what was coming.

We were waiting for the Sacred Grail. It could appear at any moment, and every lord in the realm was watching.

But that night turned out differently.

A courier arrived in a hurry, soaked from the storm. He carried a message from my ally, Semtex. A noble by blood and a warrior by nature. His scouts had found something serious.

Near his kingdom, an Archiruins Level 7 had awakened. Not just old ruins, but something dangerous. The place was full of monsters, and the air itself was said to feel wrong there. Ancient, hostile.

But there was also an opportunity.

His scouts reported a few key things. We could unite our forces quickly. The ruins were surrounded by dense forest, which meant we could approach unseen. And most importantly, their leader, the hero-monster, was not there. He was somewhere in the rear.

That changed everything.

I didn’t hesitate.

Orders were given immediately. Horns sounded across my lands. Gates opened, units moved, commanders took their positions. Within a short time, one million troops were ready.

Cavalry in front. Fast and decisive.
Archers behind them.
Mages preparing their power.
And the healers, quiet but essential.

We moved without torches. The storm covered us. The forest hid us.

Branches scraped armor, mud slowed our steps, but no one spoke. Every soldier understood the plan.

When we reached the ruins, Semtex was already there. We didn’t waste time on speeches. Just a look was enough.

We attacked.

The cavalry hit first. Fast and hard. The enemy didn’t have time to react properly. Without their leader, they were disorganized.

Arrows followed, filling the air.
Magic struck next, breaking groups of enemies apart.
Then came close combat. Steel against claws.

The forest that protected them turned against them. They had no space to regroup.

Their lines broke quickly. Some tried to run, others fought where they stood. It didn’t matter. The result was clear very soon.

By dawn, it was over.

The Archiruins were ours.

The place was heavily damaged. Towers collapsed, gates destroyed, the ground marked by battle. But inside, we found what we came for.

And more.

Deep within the ruins, we uncovered twenty thousand black pearls. A huge reward. We split them evenly. No arguments. That victory belonged to both of us.

I also found something else.

An artifact. A pair of enchanted bracers. Old, but powerful. They weakened attacks from cursed monsters. Exactly the kind of advantage that wins future battles.

I took them.

By the time we returned, people were already talking.

In taverns, markets, everywhere. Stories about the storm, about the attack, about how two armies worked together and took down something ancient.

Our names started to spread.

But for me, this was not the end.

The hero-monster is still out there. Somewhere. Gathering what remains of his forces. And most likely guarding even more black pearls.

One victory is not enough.

Now I know how to fight them. I know what to expect.

I will keep going. Ruins, Stonehenges, tombs, whatever stands in the way.

And when I finally find him, there will be no second chance for him.

The hunt has already begun.

I tried to expand the story, I’d be grateful for the reward 🙂
Also, could you maybe tweak the Legionnaire’s Boots a bit? 😄

Happy Easter (if you follow the Eastern Christian tradition)!
