Invite to clan (part 2)

#1 Post by WildWilly »

Here we go again...

We currently have 24 members but an allowance for 25. There was an invitation to another player before the new update when we changed to democratic. This player has not accepted the invite (foolish, i know) but it still showing as the invitation is there for him. (greyed out)

The problem is that we have no "X" box to cancel his invitation.

How do i remove this obviously delusional chap from our invite selection so i can invite our full quota of players?

I think you should try to talk o the player and ask him to refuse the invitation.

No response from the player so we were in limbo and held to ransom by a muppet.

Fortunately, the in-game admin have said that the invitation will be removed in 72hrs if not accepted. I don't know if this is now the standard across all clans in the game or if this is just because of our situation.

It's how it works now for Democratic Clans.

Fancy not accepting an invite to your clan Jas - he must be fast asleep or bonkers!

Still no "FIX" for this issue after 5 days. Apart from upsetting a new player (potential paying customer) who is waiting this is getting on my nerves too. (paying customer) :x

Even Encyclopaedia advises:
"Before inviting a player to Clan it's better to contact him, learn his priorities, the time he can spend playing, etc., and, correspondingly, send an invite when it's for sure the player will accept it."

The inviter should cancel the invitation.

Firstly...after being informed by the admin that an invitation will only be open for 72 hours...why do we still have this one outstanding?? It's been over 6 days!

Secondly...the rules state that anyone can invite. This is what has happened and the "inviter" is not answering mails and taking into account the wisdom for initiating this stupid rule...what if the "inviter" doesn't read the encylopiedia nor give a damn what it says!? So what do i do??!!

I would normally dismiss the "inviter" for in-activity...we don't keep players to bolster rank. However, i wanted this sorted out before that. Let me tell you why..

(To anyone being removed from a clan)

You have time whilst they decide your fate (democracy). Do this to screw up your former team-members:

Impeach whoever is in charge (just for the hassle)
Invite as many known in-actives in your area and ignore mails in the future (hopefully your clan have 3 or 4 spare spaces to really put the boot in)

The clan will not be able to invite until..erm...well 72 hours unless you all refuse in the poll.

WAIT! WAIT!! What if the in-active (obviously) does NOT accept the invitation? Then you will be in the same boat as me. You wont get a poll to refuse...and the guy you are removing from your clan isn't likely to press HIS "X" button for you..lol

No poll...No 72 hours...No response from inviter or invitee...No cancellation...No override "X" button for the leader...Limbo

Sorry for my sharp answer...but being blown off with "these are the rules" is getting boring. If it's 72 hours for an invitation to be accepted or it is cancelled, then that should apply to my clan too. If it can only be cancelled using the poll or the initial inviter cancels it him/herself.....ermmm...that's just crazy!

Jas

*side note...Oh and in a democracy, i do NOT get to choose who enters my country (clan). The leaders put restrictions in place so idiots are not invited. God knows how Rolf Harris got in!
Allowing players to invite Joe Smith cos' he is ded gud and lives three doors away at number 36 wif a cool sister (Ppphhhhwwwwoorr) is not democracy. Especially if you are held to ransom with no way of cancelling without the inviters consent.

So i take it that there is no solution? Even the in-game admins have not replied in the stated 48hrs.

How do i remove an invitation when BOTH the invited and inviter are in-active? :?

What happens if i remove the inviter from the clan? :?

Do we have to wait until the invited is eventually removed from the game? :?

What if the invited is a paying customer and does not leave the game?

Invitation can be cancelled only by the inviter or the invitee, not by the Clan Head.
However, as it's been written above, if an invitation has not been cancelled, nor accepted after 72 hours - it is automatically removed.
I mean this is how it should be.
I don't know if it's working for everybody else... but your situation is a bug and it's already in the process of fixing at the moment.

Thank you for the clarification. I am happy, strangely, that it is a bug. The alternative would have caused problems for all diplomatic clans as i outlined.

At least we know that something is being done about it. That's good enough for me :)
