A myriad of monsters came one day to settle in the kingdom next to my neighbour Gunspy. It seemed they had come to make a home at the bottom of our kingdoms. I sent out spies to learn more about them. The stories they brought back terrified me. The monsters that came were indeed very rich. They had the means to build 50 more settlements within the area.
Without provocation they began to kill the peaceful population and wreak havoc in the sorrounding areas. The monstrous horde caused all who saw it to tremble and flee in panic, spreading word of their terrible bloodletting. I, the King, having no proper understanding of what to do in such emergency situations, began to gather as many brave warriors together as I could summon.
What occurred, who was to blame and how much it cost our kingdom - these 3 questions you shall learn the answers to by reading this short story......
The battle for land and capture of trophes
==============================
Wandering in the neighbouring kingdom of Holylands, I walked into a dense Steppe, where lived my neighbour Gunspy. I saw Gunspy looked very worried. I asked him 'What's up, neighbour?'. To which he replied 'A horde of monsters has come. They have taken my land, killed my famers, and now I have nothing to feed my people with. We will have to find a new home and start all over again.' Seeing his anguish I replied 'Do not despair neighbour, for I will help you regain your lands. I will destroy the monstrous hordes and share with you their wealth. You will have enough riches to last for several generations!'
He returned to his kingdom and gathered his army. I summoned all of my brave warriors and proceeded towards the monsters, joining together with Gunspy's marching army. The monsters were ready and waiting for us, as if they had been warned by somebody unseen. WIthout hesititation I ordered 'For Motherland!' using one of the political slogans in the World War II as a battle cry!

Wave after wave of monsters were killed but still they were holding my warriors back, more replacing those that fell in every minute. Small groups however did manage to break through, but could not reach the centre of the monster encampment, where laid the treasure. It was guarded by an elite monster company. Then I noticed that Gunspy had broken through their defensive lines on the left flank, and the resolve of the monstrous army on the right had started to weaken. At that moment I saw how skillfully my neighbour was fighting the crowds of horrible monsters. I rallied my troops on the right side to break the entire defence of the monsters, and thus began the massacre.
The monsters Commander realising his army would be defeated, sent every creature forward into the attack, while ordered the elite guard to also join the battle. To the sound of trumpets, the entire army of monsters swarmed from the broken flanks. I saw the approaching cavalry and the remaining army from the flanks, and without lingering a moment ordered a retreat. In an effort to deceive the enemy, I brought forward my marksmen and gave the order to fire into the sky. The air above obscured by arrows, the monsters fled in panic in every direction.
At this time I saw, the Commander of the monsters had been killed. The elite guard had been destroyed while trying to flee. I ordered my cavalry to pursue the retreating the monsters, 'Kill every last one of them!' I cried, 'lest they should try to come again'. Monks swarmed onto the field of battle to begin resurrectng the fallen soldiers. Our victory was complete! We had beaten the monstrous hordes without a single loss!
Everybody rejoiced! We were won! Victory was ours!
The darkness gave way to a dazzling radiance emanating directly from the two heavenly bodies. When finally we could open our eyes without fear of blindness, we could see no moon, no sun, only the stars twinkling lonely and distraught.
And so ends the story of our victory over the hordes of monsters.
WORD OF VICTORY
On the darkest day of the year
In cloudless weather
In the Steppe my neighbour sat in captivity
There was a lot of monsters
And I went to war with them
Their dark deeds had angered us
The war that took place was a success
We defeated the monsters
They fought so viciously
And so many were laid upon the ground
That after the battle was over
Many did not believe they were still alive.
