Quests.

#1 Post by No32 »

I have failed one, about to fail another two just because I play for free, so it looks as if I will not get much further in the quests. Looks like the game was designed so if you don't pay, you don't pass. :!:

It is not obligatory to complete all the quests.

This game needs to be sorted out - and fast. People join and then get fed up because progress is so painfully slow.
They should speed up the rewards system so that novices can get further, faster. And it should not be so highly
dependent on the amount you must spend on the game for the all-important Black Gems.

I know the owners need to make money out of this site but really! The current set up demands an investment equal to
several PS3/X-box games and, currently, it offers poor value for money.

Wake up, owners - customers are voting with their feet! :x

Will they actually notice this tread? Since it is in the Flood which is a moderator free forum. This Topic should at least be in the (Questions to the Forum Administration) section

But if you don't do the ones that require payment, then in practice you can't complete the 150-quest metaquest.

But it's not obligatory to complete this quest.

It's not obligatory to play the game, or to enjoy it; if someone wants to do both, though, then finding that a supposedly free game in fact demands money in order for one to succeed is a bit of a blow.

You do not need money to play and enjoy the game! You do need money if you want some extra bonuses. However, many people play without these bonuses and that's ok for them.

It's pretty clear that, unless you spend money, you can only play the game for a fairly short while; then you reach a point where you're simply food for paying players. So many quests have to be paid for, and some of those give rewards without which other quests are virtually impossible. The 150-quest meta-quest is impossible, of course.

You can earn Black Gems in the Game and when you have a Hero - you can just buy the Helmet of Divine Wisdom (which is the reward for the "150" quest) for the Gems. Thus, you have this item without completing the quest.

How much Black Gems does it cost?

100,000 BG

Now, that might seem a lot in the beginning, but an Arch Ruin pays out almost that much. And you aren't meant to get level 5 stuff overnight.

The complaint that "I can't complete all the quests because I don't want to pay, so I don't get any quests" is a bit flawed. Most quests are triggered by reaching a certain stage in your progression. If you are progressing more slowly, you will still trigger the quests eventually.

I think part of it is impatience. You aren't meant to get a lot of these quests whilst you are less than Suzerain.

Spoiler here: After the 150 quest, there is a 200 quest. And whilst it took 2 months to do the 150, I am already 57 quests into the 200.

Some of the quests are designed to take a long time. You think when you get the Suzerain rank quest you are meant to do it overnight? I have the Hero Army quest, and given the numbers it wants you to get, it is plainly designed to take a long time.

If you fail six quests, you fail the 150-quest metaquest. It's impossible not to fail at six pay quests long before completing 150 -- so the metaquest is impossible for non-payers.
