It pays to multibox so why not cheat?

#1 Post by ZenZephyr »

So i notice a big player Hyperborean, it a dirty cheat and he's been caught. Great i think, now everyone can go at give him the raiding he deserves and loot all the stuff he cheated from the players that want to play fairly and within the rules. Oh no that's not the case is it. When I find his city I'm blocked from attacking him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a stupid rule, the admin 'actually' protect you from the justice you deserve, so hey why don't we all multibox if that's how it is? Build massive armies and resources until your caught get banned for a few days, protected by the admin and carry on.

Unless I'm missing something here it certainly seems to be strategically advantageous to cheat :)

Yeah I want to know why he was banned temporarily even after being caught for multiboxing, and being protected during that time just sounds so stupid.

I wonder how many people actually get caught? There seem to be a lot of low-level players with almost nothing but spies and counterspies -- far more than you'd expect from someone actually playing the game.

To be fair, it's not easy to catch any but the stupidest cheats, who simply open new accounts from the same IP address. Still, I agree that that shouldn't mean that they don't get properly punished, so that it doesn't pay to do it. Being protected from attack seems an odd way to punish someone...

i guess anyone banned must have some protection, in case they appeal successfully against the ban only to find that admin has let them get raided to death.
surely tho, after no appeal is raised or is judged unsuccessful, the banned acct should be treated as inactive and left to the wolves.

Playing from the same IP address is allowed. Playing from the same computer isn't, unless the 2 accounts don't interact and admin are informed. If you watch over time, lots of people get banned for multiboxing, then a couple of days later they're back in the game. Always seems to be big Russian players, but I have seen others too. The game is corrupt, they make it too easy to get the ban overturned, so people will continue to do it. The only way it will stop is if they start being stricter with the rules.

And you're correct, there are lots of low level accounts made up just of spies and visionaries. Most of these will be multibox accounts, but until they actually get caught doing something against the rules, there's not much admin can do. And even when you do report somebody for multiboxing, they say "tell us when so and so happens", you then do that and they say "should have taken some screen shots". Would have been nice to be told that originally...

Multiboxing, cheating, banned for good... it always depends. Let`s say a player has logged in on the same pc like 300 times. Then for some reason he logged in on his friend`s pc like 5 times. Shall he be punished. Yes. Banned for ever - no. And let`s say there are two accounts always playing on the same pc, having like 200 log-ins each. In this case there will be "banned forever".

So today Battle of the Day report was or was not multiboxing? A definative answer would be appreciated seeing as it is two identical players from different servers merged to the UK one and each has exactly the same hero (peacemaker/paladin/warrior) and troops??

Coincidence or multiboxing ?
I bet on the second ;)

How about Jezek20 and Jezek21 ? lol
Is that a coincidence, I don't think so.

Either way doesn't matter. They are playing within the rules of the game. It isn't cheating because the admin allows them to multibox.
I don't agree with this, just the way it is

there are (were?) several different servers, and players are allowed to have one account on each server.
I'm guessing that he (or she) had one account on several servers and then the admin merged the servers together so that he (or she) had multiple accounts on one server.
I'm sure the admin has a policy for mergers

When I reported something like this the reply I got was - It is not that they are multiboxing intentionally...
I feel silly to have deleted my accounts which I had on the servers that got merged...

They do have a policy towards multiple accounts due to the mergers...

At first it was not allowed. I know many players who deleted their account OR were banned for multiboxing because of this. Most legitimate players were then forced to delete the other accounts because they are honest gamers.

But now admin has changed their policy to benefit ???? themselves I would guess, and now allows multiple accounts from the merger.

As always, no consistency at all, and in no way fair.
