There was a flame and then there was victory.

Come more close, children. I will tell you the story of the worlds creation. A story about the great deeds and the great heroes. To you I will open the secrets of the future.

So long ago it was. But gods have no count for time. Gods were bored most of the time anyway. And then one day, in desire to entertain themselves, the gods created this world. And they put a bit of everything in it. A bit of Grace, a bit of Anger, a bit of Dignity and a bit of Arrogance. That is how Elves, Demons, Knights and Drow came to the world. And then the Great War had begun. Under the leadership of Queen Rose, named “Scarlet”, Knights took one victory after another. But in the battle near Urga River Demons and Drow came together to fight as one and achieved a crucial victory. Remains of the Scarlet Army could not escape their horrible fate. They all drowned in the river under the weight of their own heavy armors. After this massacre this alliance of Demons and Drow was called Darkness. Darkness Army came all over across the world to siege the Capitals of Knights. As the last from the Scarlets were preparing to die with honor, the green army of Elves came. With all their kindness they could not watch the genocide of the Knights race. They came to make a peace. But the Children of Anger Demons didn’t want to leave in last moment, as they felt the taste of victory – and so the great battle had begun. With all their power the Demons seeded death all over the battle field, but Elves knew the secrets to resist death itself. Their priests heal and resurrect the fallen in the same rate. In the same moment the Knights were slaying the Darkness from the skies, on the wings of their Pegasus. Soon it was clear that the Darkness Army lost its fortune. They were not prepared to fight against the power of life. As it turned out, they were not prepared for serious battle at all. Some of the Darks begin to retreit. And then Starh, the leader of the Drow, commanded to stop the battle. He challenged Geladriel, the King of Elves, to a honorable duel. And the King took the challenge.

In the next morning Geladriel and Starh fought in the great circle. They fought untill the evening and their forces were even. But in the dawn of the day Geladriel eventually fell, and Starh`s blade was ready to make a deadly hit. Suddenly a crossbow string whistled. It was the crossbow of Thorn, Queen Rose´s secret advisor. He was scared, assuming that death of Elves King will mean defeat and death to the Knights too.

The bolt came right in Starh`s heart. Blood sprayed from his wound, but he was strong. His legacy was ruined, and his honor was offended by the bolt of the Knight. As he falls to the ground, he whispers an old curse, left by the gods themselves.

Then the Sun stopped to shine, and the earth shacked, and came the hurricane with the voice of spirits in its wings.

Yes, my children. That is how the world of Golems, Spirits, Gargoyles and Orcs came to be. You´re asking what happened to those armies after? That… No one knows. But they say that nobody survived. Beasts that came to our world with the dying Drow whispered: know no mercy. They slayed them all. The best of their races ended there. And the Capital of the Knights turned into arch ruins.

Since those times every nation fought for survival. But could you really call all that has left nations? It were just little duchies, in a constant war with Beasts and ready to grab each others throats for every bit of recourses. There were no more strong unions and unbreakable alliances. Even the Elves were ready to do everything just for one additional mine.

Though there was a prophecy that one day a true leader will come, who will make his clan and together with all the nations will lead campaign to arch ruins.

And there was one. He was born not so far away from place of the last great battle. And his name was Gloomy Hatred. Such an unusual name for Elves however he gained because of his personality. He was always gloomy and he could hate, as usual only Demons would. When he reached an age of 34, which is so young for Elves, he was already Duke of a little town. With his good lead a little town started to grow wealthy, all thanks to the constant looting of nearby villages. Soon he was able to hire a hundred of legendary Elven priests. With their help, he made his first attack on the small clusters of Beasts. This marked the beginning of a victorious war with those monsters, and it lasted quite a long time. But one day a demon known as Intacto came to him a demon. And he told of an ancient prophecy about arch ruins and a secret society which is engaged in its quest. Gloomy Hatred didn’t think too long and asked to take it in this society, which is what happened after the initiation ceremony.

Do not ask what kind of secret ceremony was it, children. Some say that he had to fight one on one with a dozen golems. Others say that he passed the magical duel with the great Mosya. Third say that he addressed the assembly to scientists and reported about the uselessness of the magicians. And the fourth, the most evil, argue that he just paid for his membership with black gems. I do not know how this happened, but it happened.

And so, after some time, messengers brought the welcome news - far to the west traces of the Scarlet Rose minions was found. That meant somewhere in those places once stood the ancient capital of the Knights. The search continued with redoubled force. And soon, in the center of vast barren desert, it was discovered. Arch ruins was huge. Thousands monsters swarmed in the ruins of the once beautiful city. And it was not possible to pass them unnoticed. There was only one thing - to fight. Gloomy Hatred was preparing for this battle all his life. He long ago started to collect rare magic scrolls and artifacts that improve the combat abilities of his soldiers. He was also hoarding gold for many years, which would pay the mercenaries. And the time has come.

Two great armies met at the edge of the desert. Elves watched the Demons with very evident displeasure, and they answered with even more unfriendly look. But everyone knew that without each other they cannot do it. Soon after blew of the horn two armies moved forward.
Mercenaries rushed to attack first. Grand masters of assassins school and Flaming Demonesse was able to crush the first rows of Beasts, but they could not move further more. And then the main forces of both armies came along.

When the dust had settled so much that you finally could breathe, Gloomy Hatred and Intacto had descended to the lowest floor of the conquered the arch ruins. There, in the former royal treasury, they found deposits of black gems and ancient magic scrolls. However, this was not the main thing. The main thing was that they would open the fate of our world. They saw the future. It became clear that it is their secret society that has to restore the former power of all races. Combining the strengths of all the rulers they conquered all of the others.
So I implore you children, do not get in their way. As they are guided by gods themselves.

38000 BG is about 380$

Golden city can make more than 25000 gold/hour - upto 40000 is not unknown - with right conditions.

Town: 5*, 43 squares
Fill it up with houses (population on max)
And fill all villages (+30% bonus) with Trade post buildings.
This will accumulate huge amount of gold per hour!
