... and it gets really tedious. I think if the rewards and magic levels
came faster, more people would stay in it. Seems to me that MyLands
is not exactly a hive of activity at the moment.

I would say the main demotivator is the imbalance in the game.

The few big players field armies that are barely hurt when they flatten their opponents and there is no fair way of catching up to them.

A uk server with a lock out such that only uk residents can play would give us a a more level playing field - money would still tell but the big game plutocrats who earn major amounts from servers such as the Russian ones (and it is not exclusively the Russian players who are the 'issue') would not be able to come in and dominate the server.

It is a good game, well thought out but very poorly policed and what policies there are do not appear to favour the average player.

what game does favour the average player?

either you put effort in and get rewarded or dont!

its a bit liek life you either play it full out and have fun or you go with the flow and get knocked up as you go down river..

I think possibly Desmonica means the average funded player. In life it's possible to live a full life without a lot of money. Whereas the game is biased towards those who have more money, but not necessarily more ability. It always will be that way with a profit-minded company behind it, of course.

There are still niches to be had, but they're not immediately obvious, I suppose.

On a side note, I've never been knocked up whilst sailing down river. Where is this interesting river, please? :)

Institute a 6* ranking; those of 6* rank could not attack 5* players. If it takes 500 mil in army strength to take down a 6* ruin, make that the division and come up with a name for the new rank. I would suggest doing the same thing for 7*. This way it would be "easier" for those that have the time and resources to point their guns at more formidable target rather than a smaller player because it would give their Hero 20,000 experience.

I think a 6* ranking with the perfection option now sets a new standard for the top 20 players and would allow lvl 5's to breath a little in the game as the world grows.

I think this would be a great idea.

:D

Good idea. I don't think that it's a question of having or not having money though. There are two kinds of person who reach the top in games like this: the ones who try to help others, and who try to behave like decent, adult human beings, and the ones who behave like adolescent bullies. Three guesses as to which kind dominates My Lands...

The real problem of this game is the skulduggery.

You mean multi-accounting, etc.? It's hard to tell how much effect that has; you're probably right that it's a problem. To be honest, though, the people who cheat are largely the same as the people who are arrogant bullies, so we have the same culprits in mind. As they're mainly also the ones who spend a lot of money on the game, nothing significant will be done to stop them, though; that's a pattern familiar to anyone who's played on-line games of this type.

I come from spanish servers. There the multi-accounts is a real problem than cant be detected by administration. Using virtual machines, one is able to use more than 2 accounts. Them used this accounts to launch spam attacks; to kill healers and to reach levels with their heroes; to full fill a city with researchers looking for flags; Use them as spies to have acces in other clans to obtain information (by and by, destroy all players of the clan)...

At first, we start to play on fair, but at the end, we realized that multi accounts is the way to make things more equitable. Is true that russians rules this games, because they have more experience. But also, in my clan of spain, we have attacked this multi-accounts to show all the server that the skulduggery is something that we can cope...

Of course, without BG is very tough to achieve the level requested to cope this great sharks!...but not impossible
