build time
The only dislike I have is the build time. I believe you would have more people interested in you game if the build time was reduced. To make a game fun you should be able to interact move with the game not just click a building and haveing to wait an hour on lvl 2 come on.

Re: build time
Rome wasn't built in a day...
There might be room for tweaking, but I think that it's just about right. Buildings are pretty easy to build at the beginning, and become increasingly difficult (in terms of cost and time). If buildings could be set up and levelled at the click of a mouse, everyone would have their maxed cities in the first day -- nothing to strive for, just instant gratification. What next? Ruins can take too long to reach: make attacking them instantaneous -- click the mouse and get the resources and a battle report. Troop training too: just click the mouse and get a barrack's full of archers or cavalry.
The game would become like Doonesbury's Jimmy Thudpucker collecting stamps -- just 'phoning his order in to the philately shop for the complete set of Germany or Ghana.

Re: build time
Even if construction should take time, which can be object of discussion - remember Heroes 3 times where you bought building?
Anyway. It would be great to give the player an ability to do something "useful" WHILE the buildings are getting built, not just sit around.
Edit: It's all about paying BG for the speed up construction, speed up science.. it would be a really bad idea to remove that discomfort (slow building for example) from the game because less people will be willing to pay.
