Overpowered players

#1 Post by Elkenlore »

Either:
- Introduce a rank 6
or
- Stop players from attacking someone with less than half of their points value

I personally am trying to stay rank 4 for as long as possible because I can see my army being wiped out as soon as I hit rank 5, if this happens I'll definitely stop playing. This has happened to loads of other players I know and is becoming ridiculous.

If you will provide lvl 6, after some time you will ask lvl 7, lvl 8... etc. And how many ranks do you need? And how to play in such conditions, when you can't attack somebody, because you are lvl 25, and he is lvl 24? And even worse - he can attack you!!

-enemy can catch your army in 1 minute after it return home. Need to remember it. All other cases - only if you are making mistakes when army is at home. First month you will have cast on your capital 90% of attacking army will retread before battle. It will not save against really big armies, but you can use you temple against them. And use this month to build all what is need to protect yourself.
To save your army use simple defenders things:
1) close gates as often as you can. When your army return in closed gates, then your army will pass it and enemy - not.
2) Use temple. build lvl 7 and look around you. Don't forget about boots for +speed, so enemy can have +75% speed in max (its x4 times), you can count how far need to search for enemies (strong players) and use temple, when your army is on the way and will not return in closed gates.
3) Build 2x lvl7 magic towers and 100k+ mercenaries. it will not save you against attacks of big guys, but middle armies will afraid of attack it. And you will have possibility to use your temple on other players.
4) Buy boots for slow down enemies attack. 100% is good, 200% is almost guarantee against attacks. Nobody will can to catch your army... but... you will need to keep your hero at home all the time to make this boots work.
5) use sanctuary/gates every time you don't online. Don't forget to hide army, its important even if you have bots 400%
6) build resurrector. If some bad things happen, you will save 42% of army, its not bad.

May be need to post it as guide topic. If somebody wants - do it please. I think its bad to show all my language mistakes in it. So need to correct it.

I am aware of the tactics involved. I merely included the level 6 idea as it is the most popular on the forum.

I prefer the idea that a player cannot attack someone with less that half of their points rank. The top players would hardly be inconvenienced since they would have a plethora of players that they would still be able to attack.

The current system prevents any new rank 5 players from playing the game to the full potential. At ranks below 5 you can attack ruins without too much fear of being wiped out by other players. Even if you do lose your army it doesn't take too long to rebuild it. Once you hit rank 5 however, you face constant attacks from much stronger players preventing your army ever growing large enough to be able to contest them.

This population of this game is growing by an increasing rate everyday. It seems closed minded that it limits it's top players to such a small number. The ideas put forward may not be the correct solutions to the problem but for the game to develop it does require some changes, at least in this situation.

While I agree it is hard for new suzerain players to stay safe, it can be done as Ozyr has suggested. Maybe some kind of limitations could be introduced but I am not sure how...

Your suggestion would be too limiting.... It would limit the top 3 players for example to only attacking 8 or 9 other players. The game would be immensely boring in that case - can't steal flags, no point to clans, no tactics involved just waiting for somebody to hit the magic army number. Meanwhile those little players could rob and pillage the larger players to their hearts content? With no fear of retaliation?

The same with a 'level 6' then people would complain upon graduation to level 6 about the same problem... so a level 7, 8 9, 26 is needed to make everybody happy. And the same problems occur with only 1 person in level 23 able to attack nobody else?

And then how would ruins work? If you can't attack ruins below your rank, then you have to make higher ranked ruins for the big players. This means that it'll be even harder for people to find ruins of the appropriate level.

It sucks that huge people can hammer somebody who is tiny, but creating more ranks isn't a good answer.

No I agree about the extra ranks.

However I do think something should be introduced, maybe a spell that allows resurrectors to bring back 100% of lost units. This spell could be automatically cast on your capital when you become suzerian and last about 2 weeks?

But you already get the 90% of enemy troops don't take part of battle in your capital for a month. I don't see why anybody would attack you in that time, unless you really annoyed one of the massive players.

If your army is big enough to take somebody out with only 10% of your troops, then the amount of xp you'll get for the cost to launch that attack isn't worth it.
